(NC) Craving a cool summer beverage but unable to decide between your favourite refreshing beerbrews? Why make the choice when you can have both with the Snakebite — an iconic popular drink that originated in funky 1980s Britain. Typically served in a pint, this smooth concoction features two delicious beers in equal parts and is sure to have your guests trying to guess the secret ingredient.

Try a terrific twist on this classic with the bold and spicy ginger centre stage and add a smooth stout to balance it off.

Ginger Stout Snakebite

Makes 1 drink

Ingredients:

• 8 oz Crabbie’s Original Alcoholic Ginger Beer, chilled

• 8 oz stout beer, chilled

• 1 lime wedge, for garnish

Directions:

  1. Pour stout into a chilled pint glass then mix in Crabbie’s ginger beer. Garnish with lime.

Pairing tip: For lunch or dinner, ginger beer works well with a glazed ham, or serve it with a mixture of walnuts, apples and blue cheese as an appetizer or snack.
